What is a Glucometers Used for?
A glucometer, also known as a glucose meter or blood sugar meter is medical equipment used to measure sugar levels in the blood with only a drop of blood. Noninvasive meters require no blood drop. These compact and portable devices provide the results of your blood sugar level instantaneously.
The basic functioning of the glucometer is based on the testing strip, The chemical in the testing strip comes in contact with the blood and measures the sugar levels. You’d have to use a lancet device that comes along with the glucometer to pierce the skin for a drop of blood. Even if you are healthy and non-diabetic, it is no harm to keep a check on your blood sugar levels, strictly at your doctor’s advice.

The strips are refillable or replaceable when they get exhausted or finished.
